Weekly Roundup (7/19-7/25)

by - 8:00 AM

This week has been really chill. After my trip to California, I was jet lagged and tired and that sort of carried over all week. I have company coming into town next week (that I am SUPER psyched about seeing!!) and I just wanted to sort of re-group this week before being a great host. :)

Here's what I've been up to this week:

Writing- I posted over on my author page here, but I really tried to focus on Surviving the Aftershock this week, since it's the only one with a hard deadline at this point. It's by far been the most emotionally taxing thing for me to write, but I honestly think the end result is going to be great. I did a few last minute changes to Kenna's Reverie, which looks like it's going to be releasing August 3rd. I wrote 32 pages (that's unformatted pages) this week total.

Reading- This week I haven't done much reading. I am still working on Her Master's Courtesan by Lily White (a banned book from Amazon) and I cracked open City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I plan to finish up both next week.

Weight Loss- I had a milestone this week! I am officially under 230 pounds! (229 respectively!) I hate to even admit this, but I've been a little carb crazy the last 48 hours, so I'm going to need to tone that down to keep myself losing.

Gaming- This week I've dabbled with Battlefield 4, Dragon Age Inquisition, and Destiny. So far, Destiny is winning as the favorite game of this week. Once I get further along (I literally just started it 3 days ago) I may do a review on my thoughts surrounding it. (Feel free to add me on Xbox!)

Music- This week I've been enjoying two playlists in Spotify. The Spotify created "Discover Weekly" playlist and my "Musings" playlist. Song of the week is "Try" by Colbie Callait.  (Check me out on Spotify to see my playlists!)

News/Causes- Feeling just shock and sadness at everything surrounding the Sandra Bland case. The Young Turks did a wonderful story about it. I'm beyond angry about the legislation preventing GMO labeling. We have a right to CHOOSE what we do and don't want to eat. Stop letting corporate and agribusiness lobbyists run America, congress! #EndRant

What I'm Wearing- My motto has been leggings and tees all week. Apparently that's my thing (ha, like we didn't already know this!) I had some fun with a few cute tees (all by Torrid), but overall kept it pretty mommy casual all week. :)

Beauty- Makeup wise I kept it super simple all week. Lip gloss and mascara, that's it. Hair wise I used Coolway Beachy Salt Spray (which came in my Ipsy bag this month) as well as Marc Anthony Strictly Curls. I've been using B&BW's Country Chic line of body wash, spray, and lotion. I really like it. It sort of reminds me of the way old school "Sunflowers" parfume. Anyone remember that? :)

What I'm watching- Nothing new this week. Just old South Park episodes at night when I went to bed. I have lots of shows to catch up on and am planning a movie marathon over the weekend, so expect more on this next week! :)

Mommyhood- Potty training is the worst thing in the entire world. That's all I am going to say about that! Favorite kid "product" this week is Cantu Hair Moisturizing lotion! I may review this one, because I am really loving it! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is slowly working it's way up to my banned shows list, only because if I hear the Hot Dog Dance one more time, I may die. Seriously.

Self Awareness- I am a reformed hot head (ha) but still struggle with knowing when to "argue" (we'll call it advocating) and when to be silent. This week I focused on learning to listen instead of speak.

That's it for this week, folks!

As always, leave me some comment love!
